I meant to write yesterday, but it was quite a day! We left home at 7:00am, made a quick stop to say good-bye to my mom, then we were off to the airport! We got there around 10:45. Our flight didn’t leave until 2:00, but we weren’t sure how long it would take to get through TSA. It was pretty quick, believe it or not! We had a great lunch and boarded around 1:30.
Here is where the fun began. Apparently, there were bad storms in Denver, so the airport was ‘shut down’ until the weather cleared. Hey, DIA, this would have been nice to know BEFORE we boarded! We sat in the plane until 3:30. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate waiting, vs flying through storms! I believe the word that I heard was TORNADOES! Look, I am a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz, but we didn’t need to travel through any tornadoes! Not looking to head to Oz via tornado today!
We landed in Mexico City around 8:00. We were supposed to get in at 6:45. The one bonus of having a cane is that you get expedited through Customs. So, I guess that I will call the cane a blessing and a curse. After Customs, getting our bags, and the ride to Puebla, we made it to the clinic, a little after 11:00. There were some nice sandwiches waiting and we met my nurse, Ana. I have Dick and a nurse, since we weren’t sure if Dick would be able to stay the whole time.
This morning at around 7:30, we were tested for COVID and they drew blood – A LOT of blood! We won’t be able to leave the apartment until our COVID test comes back negative. That will be tomorrow morning. This morning we watched a video about MS (I’m pretty clear on MS and what it is!), the procedure, the facility and statistics. Tuesday and Wednesday will be full of tests, an extensive MRI, x-rays, and medical questionnaires. They want to make sure that you are completely healthy before this procedure starts. As I’ve always said, I’m in great health except for this little neurological complication. LOL…sort of.
Honestly, I’ll probably be a little worried until I clear all of the tests. I was holding my breath until we got here, because I couldn’t believe that we were actually doing it! Now, I’m holding my breath until the procedure can truly start. Fortunately for me, I have a lot of great people, that are really good at praying, looking out for me. For that reason alone, I know that it will all be fine and work out as it should. So, I guess the only thing that I should do right now is go and take a nap!
Wow, long day of travel. Glad to hear about Nurse Kenny.
Between Nurse Kenny and Nurse Ana, I feel like a kept woman.?
Sis we love you and are with you both in spirit, kick some MS butt down there.
Thanks! My plan is to kick its ass!?

Glad to read this today. You made it through the tornadoes. Now get through this hurricane. Shouldn’t be a problem for you at all!!I like the new countdown. Take care. I am sending my very best thoughts and prayers and lots of love for all 3 of you!!!
When do you actually meet “The Wizard”?
We meet him on Thursday. According to Ana, the only thing that we will get in Puebla will be rain showers. We are too far inland. I went to bed around 8 last night and slept for about 12 hours so I’m feeling pretty good today.
That is great!
Thinking of you with thoughts and prayers. You are running the great race and fighting the strong fight. You are in the loving hands of the Lord. Sounds like your team is ready to go….Kenny and your nurse. Give Kenny a hug. Love always. Joy
I am glad you made it there safely. Continued prayers…
Thanks!
With you in prayer and thought. Keep running that race and fighting the good fight. The Lord is with you and Kenny. Love always. Joy
